Submission for the 2014 UWM Design Entrepreneur Showcase Introducing Biblio! Your reading adventure companion. Biblio straddles the rift between reading and technology to provide new motivations towards reading and introduces ways to promote critical thinking skills in today's youth. Biblio is a smart phone based application that works by pairing a multi-media reading journal with leveling, collection, and social media aspects. While reading, users create their very own reading adventure through bibliologs (journal entries) which can be shared and accessed by their friends, spurring the sharing of ideas. All the while, users level up and collect badges based upon their individual reading habits. Biblio also provides exploration aspects, through which users can locate local libraries and book stores, browse local reading events, and chat with other users. By providing incentives to encourage reading and the tools to reinforce critical thinking, Biblio! becomes an entry point for a screen focused youth of today to become the leaders in the Bibliovival of tomorrow.
